Torah Portion

The Torah is the first 5 books of the Bible, which is the narrative and spiritual foundation for the rest of the Old Testament Scriptures (also called the Tanakh), as well as the New Testament. The Torah has been broken up into portions which are traditionally read every week on a yearly cycle, going back to ancient times.

During our Sabbath services, we read a section from the Torah portion and the complimentary reading from the Prophets (the Haftarah), along with a portion from the New Testament. The reader will have some brief commentary, often highlighting how the Scripture points to the Messiah.
